The Contact Group: Varnished Suffrages

I felt so honored to be a part of The Contact Group: Varnished Suffrages project: When you go to pick up the new Nashville Scene this week, thumb through LAST WEEK’s issue beside it (lol sorry) to the ‘Another Look’ section. Or read it here. I was very privileged to be a part of this wonderful EP produced by Edd Hurt, long time Nashville Scene writer and local keyboarding and production hero. I sang and played Mellotron on a Randall Bramblett tune — an environmental lament of sorts — and it was great fun. Randall says: “I really love what you all did with No Stone. Very cool vibe all the way around. It’s a mysterious song to me and you guys did the right thing with it. Thanks for pulling it out of the mist.” Check out “No Stone Unturned” (Track 4) at the URL below, and be sure to hear Laure Laferrerie of Red Money singing and playing (unleashed mad genius woman she is) on “Bangkok” and catch Steve Poulton of Altered Statesman in full vibe on “1980” — with Joseph Page adding throughout. Bonus: A fun pic I snapped of Laure, in the snow back in 2020, graces the cover. I also spy Sophie & the Broken Things getting a well-deserved ‘nother look here, too. Enjoy.
